whim hall Care Home
Set amidst 20 acres of country
woodland, Whim Hall is an 18th Century Manor
House built by the Duke of Argyll. With separate
units for the frail elderly, older people
with dementia, adults over 50 with chronic
mental illness and residents who are terminally
ill, the historic setting has been adapted
to provide dedicated specialist care delivered
to the highest standards. Care for older people
is provided in the main part of the house
where there are 19 rooms as well as the purpose
built Tweed Wing, added in 1997 to complement
the original house, which 22 rooms, all with
en-suite bathroom facilities.
The Laidlaw Suite is a self
contained unit for adults over 50 with chronic
mental illness and it has nine units along
with its own lounge, kitchen and dining facilities.
The focus is to help residents develop their
own self help skills and in a safe, secure
and sociable environment.
We regularly welcome a range
of organisations from the local community
to visit us including the Woman’s Guild,
the Red Cross, the Linton Singers Senior Group
as well as a variety of entertainers and musicians.
We also encourage residents to pursue their
own hobbies and past-times and ensure that
there are always calm and quiet areas for
residents to relax at their own pace.
