mary fisher house
Mary Fisher House, also known
locally as ‘the Grammar’ is a
residential care home for older people. It
is close to the centre of the North Yorkshire
spa town of Harrogate at the top of the Cold
Bath Road.
Originally opened as a care
home 60 years ago and run by a committee of
local dignitaries headed by local Alderman
Mary Fisher, this striking town house has
been extensively refurbished and
re-decorated to provide cosy and comfortable
surroundings as well as modern equipment and
facilities to ensure the health and safety
of our residents with limited mobility.
All our 24 bedrooms over three
floors are single occupancy with en-suite
bathroom facilities. At Mary Fisher House
we have a range of regular social activities
including exercise classes, craft sessions,
bingo and games. There is also a programme
of outings and special events planned throughout
the year. Recent highlights have included
a quiz night, summer barbecue and a musical
evening.
