knowesouth nursing home
Knowesouth, close to the Scottish
Borders town of Jedburgh, is a residential
nursing home dedicated to the specialist care
of older people with dementia. The impressive
country house has 28 beds and is surrounded
by mature parkland and gardens.
The therapeutic approach of
care at Knowesouth is achieved through the
close working relationships between care and
nursing staff at the home together with Community
Psychiatric Nurses, local GPs and the dedicated
geriatric care team at the Borders General
Hospital and Couldshields Assessment Unit.
We pride ourselves on our strong relationships
with families and friends of our residents
and welcome visitors daily between the hours
of 11am and 8pm.
Our residents are encouraged
to take part in a range of hobbies and past-times
arranged by our dedicated activities co-ordinator
who plans a varied programme for seven hours
everyday. In the grounds of Knowesouth there
is Oakbank, a new development of 18 one bedroom
apartments, for older people with a range
of care packages available as and when they
are needed.
