kippen house
Set within its own extensive
grounds, Kippen House is a residential nursing
and care home surrounded by wonderful gardens
and the panoramic views of Strathearn.
As a centre of excellence in
nursing and care, Kippen house offers care
for both adult disabled and frail elderly
residents. By working closely with our residents,
their family and friends, we provide specialised
and loving care through tailored programmes
ensuring that we meet the specific needs of
each individual.
With 17 rooms, we have a variety
of accommodation available including 14 rooms
with en-suite facilities. Our policy is to
provide a home from home, each room is equipped
with SKY Digital and residents have ready
access to daily newspapers and magazines as
well as to our comprehensive library.
Our residents enjoy the lovely
gardens to both relax in and many partake
in their up-keep. All our food is prepared
in-house using fresh local produce, but during
summer months our home-grown produce from
the gardens is a favourite at the dinner table.
We encourage residents to keep
physically and mentally active with daily
in-house activities from darts, pool, whist
and music to crosswords, board games and the
more energetic can even play golf and bowls.
Trips to the local pub are a firm favourite
and our lifestyle coordinator works closely
with the local community allowing our residents
to participate in the social and cultural
activities of the area with trips to Perth
a firm favourite. For relaxation, our visiting
aromatherapist is very popular whilst others
prefer to take a stroll safely along the path
running alongside the lovely stream which
flows through our grounds.
Our priority at Guardian
Care is to ensure that our residents regard
our homes as their own home.
We want everyone to feel that they are able
to retain their independence, privacy, dignity
and way of life in an environment that provides
them with the safety, security and specialist
care that they need to live their lives to
the full. Everyone has their own named key
nurse or key worker who works closely with
them and their family and friends to develop
a personalised care plan.
This programme is continuously
evaluated and updated to account for changes
in circumstances so that care is always appropriate
for the individual and available for 24 hours
a day for as little or as much as they need.
We regularly carry out relative and resident
customer satisfaction surveys to ensure that
we understand, and deliver, the care and services
that are most highly valued. Our carers and
nurses are trained in advocacy skills so that
they are able to accurately articulate the
wishes of our residents.
We also are very happy
to facilitate independent advocacy services.
We are committed to our residents retaining
links with the local community and regularly
host visits from local schools, community
groups, activity organisers and entertainers.
Residents have the freedom to join in as they
choose and are always encouraged to continue
with hobbies and past-times both inside and
outside of the home. We receive regular visits
from local GPs, hairdressers, dentists, opticians,
chiropodists and a mobile library regulary
calls. We ensure that residents can attend
religious services as they wish; either inside
our outside of the home.
Our mealtimes are planned
ahead with a choice of meals and snacks throughout
the day and we will always meet the individual
needs of residents whether they want to eat
in their rooms, or they would prefer to eat
outside of planned meal times. All meals are
based on the nutritional needs for older people
and we cater for all special dietary requirements.
