Catalina House Care Home
Situated in the small coastal town of
Alness, 22 miles north east of Inverness, Catalina
House offers a safe environment promoting freedom
of choice, privacy, dignity, independence and individuality,
enabling residents to achieve their full potential.
Set within its own extensive grounds,
Catalina House offers the highest standard of care
for adults with mental health issues. Our carers are
abreast of the latest skills and regularly attend
training programmes to ensure the delivery of quality
care, making Catalina House a centre of excellence.
By working closely with our residents, their family
and friends, we provide specialised and loving care
through tailored programmes ensuring that we meet
the specific needs of each individual.
We have 27 single bedrooms, 26 of which
have en-suite facilities, all rooms are attractively
decorated and furnished although residents are encouraged
to bring favourite pieces of furniture, photographs
and personal possessions to create a homely and familiar
environment. Relatives and friends are welcome to
spend time with residents at any time and refreshments
are available to them.
our commitment to the highest
standards of care
Our priority at Guardian Care is to
ensure that our residents regard our homes as their
own home.
We want everyone to feel that they
are able to retain their independence, privacy, dignity
and way of life in an environment that provides them
with the safety, security and specialist care that
they need to live their lives to the full.
Everyone has their own named key worker
or co worker who works closely with them and their
family and friends to develop a personalised care
plan.
This programme is continuously evaluated
and updated to account for changes in circumstances
so that care is always appropriate for the individual
and available for 24 hours a day for as little or
as much as they need. We regularly carry out relative
and resident customer satisfaction surveys to ensure
that we understand, and deliver, the care and services
that are most highly valued. Our carers and nurses
are trained in advocacy skills so that they are able
to accurately articulate the wishes of our residents.
We also are very happy to facilitate
independent advocacy services. Residents are encouraged
to be as independent as possible and have as much
control over their day to day lives. We actively encourage
residents to take up recreational hobbies and our
gardens offer a range of activities from tending plants
to barrel making. Community activities are regularly
arranged, whether a simple trip to the hairdresser
or a stroll around Alness and visits further a field,
our staff always promote community interaction. Mealtimes
are important to all of our residents and as such
we offer an extensive menu of freshly prepared home
cooking and we happily cater for special dietary requirements.
